Brussels is the capital of Belgium & municipality region of Belgium which comprises of 19 municipalities. Brussels-Capital Region is situated in the central portion of the country and it is a part of both the Flemish Community and the French Community of Belgium. Brussels rose from a small rural settlement on the river Senne to become a prominent city-region in Europe. The Brussels-Capital Region is officially bilingual in both Dutch and French.
