Biography:

Mrs. Onita Josephine Kamara was born on the 24th of April, 1982 in Bo Town South-Eastern part of Sierra Leone. She is the founder and Managing Director of Foundation for Action against Female genital mutilation on the Girl Child (A non-governmental organisation). She is an advocate for empowering women and girls. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in development studies from Njala University in Sierra Leone. She is a sports athlete who uses sport as one of her campaign platforms to empower young girls. She has organized several campaign platforms in universities within five West African countries educating young girls on female genital mutilation and the need to end it. She is an activist, advocate and a philanthropist.
