Dr. Hurd has practiced clinical reproductive endocrinology and infertility for over 3 decades at a number of Universities and currently holds the academic ranks of Professor Emeritus of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Duke University School of Medicine, and Adjunct Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Alabama School of Medicine. His clinical interests include infertility, in vitro fertilization and polycystic ovary syndrome. His research has focused primarily on infertility, insulin resistance and surgical safety, and he has authored more than 150 articles and chapters. He is the past Chief Medical Officer of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. Dr. Hurd has edited a number of textbooks, including “Clinical Reproductive Medicine and Surgery”, now in its 3rd edition.
