Transport
Air travel: France has 464 airports, The major airports are Charles de Gaulle, 26km(16miles) northeast of Paris and Orly (ORY), 16km (10 miles) south of Paris. Both are easily accessible from the city.
Train travel: RER suburban express train (which interconnects with the Métro inside Paris), train travel from Paris also connects to all of Europe.
Trams: There are currently seven tram lines in Paris, T1, T2, T3, T5, T6, T7, T8.
Bus: Thankfully the same company (RATP) that runs the Metro also runs most of the bus lines in Paris, so the tickets for both are identical, called T+ tickets. Noctilien is the name of the night bus service in Paris.
Metro:The Paris metro is a rapid transit system in the Parismetropolitan area. It has 16 lines and 303 station. The metro in Paris does not run 24h, so be careful when you are out in the evening.
Taxis: Paris and its suburbs have nearly 18,000 licensed taxis, hire only licensed taxis if you are ripped off by an unlicensed taxis, don't expect sympathy from the police.
