Abstract :

Biography:

Dr. Kaiser Jamil, former Director grade Scientist of CSIR- Indian Institute of Chemical Technology Hyderabad, is presently Principal Investigator and the Head of Genetics Department, at Bhagwan Mahavir Medical Research Centre, Hyderabad, having published more than 300 papers in journals of repute and guided 42 research scholars for PhD degree. During the last two decades following her instincts, she has taken up several projects related to human health, for ‘War against Cancer’ she has contributed to the field of Biomarkers in Breast cancer, Leukaemia, and Head and Neck cancer. Her Research, in Pharmacogenomics included the role of SNPs as Biomarkers in drug metabolizing genes in various cancers and other diseases, which has been published in peer reviewed journals. Using bioinformatics tools, she could relate the networking of genes which elucidated Drug-Gene interactions. She has also contributed on the role of some signalling pathways such as tyrosine kinase (TK) and MAP Kinase in haematological malignancies and HNC. Her research continues to unravel genotypes leading towards personalised medicine, and more recently studying the role of microRNAs, and DNA methylation as biomarkers in Prognosis and diagnosis of breast cancer for novel therapeutics. She has many Awards and honours to her credit. She is a Fellow of World Academy Medical Sciences (WAMS), and fellow of FZSI, FEMSI, and life member of several Academies, Societies, and Organizations, like Organization of Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD-Trieste). She has also Rendered her services to several Institutes like MGNIRSA, JNIAS, Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital  Research  Institute,  and Industry consultant at Unique Biotech Ltd. Her areas of interest are Cancer Biology, Genetics, Pharmacogenomics and Molecular Biology. Her Passion: “Human dimensions: A vision for Sharing, Learning and Transforming”.Dr.
