Biography:

Karl Kolb Ph.D., is the owner of four ISO accredited companies which include, The High Sierra Group with Ceres University who specializes in GFSI instruction, HSG/AME Certified Laboratories specializing in qPCR testing, Ceres Certifications, International (CCI) an accredited Certification Body who conducts GFSI level audits, including PrimusGFS, GlobalGAP and SQF and High Sierra Chemicals that services food manufactures with high quality sanitation chemicals.  He grew and processed herbs and artichokes at his farm in Hollister, CA.  Epicure Farms was recently sold and continues to prosper.

Karl was raised in Northern California, is a retired Special Ops US Army Colonel and graduate from the US Army War College in Carlisle Pennsylvania in international diplomacy.  Through the years, having traveled to over 100 countries and speaking three different languages, Karl consulted for many food manufacturing companies and began his civilian career as a certified industrial engineer.  He moved into food processing when he discovered a need for quality programs such as HACCP which was non-existent at the time and found a home and passion for food safety.  Karl has taught at several universities, including the University of Wisconsin teaching a variety of manufacturing topics in processing, quality, and leadership.

Karl has 7 accomplished daughters, and 5 grandkids, who are his pride and joy.  He has a passion for collecting and rebuilding classic cars, his favorite being his 1984 Jeep Wrangler “Woody” Wagoneer.  Karl resides in Phoenix Arizona and travels to Chippewa Falls Wisconsin often where his companies are headquartered.  Karl’s moto is “Give thanks for it all”.
