Biography:

Dr Kefyalew Addis Alene is a Visiting Research Fellow at the Department of Global Health, Research School of Population Health, the Australian National University. He is currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Curtin University, with joint appointments at the Telethon Kids Institute in Western Australia. He was previously working as an Assistant Professor of Epidemiology and Public Health at the University of Gondar, Ethiopia. Kefyalew has recently completed his PhD at the Australian National University. He has obtained his bachelor's degree in Public Health and his master’s degree in Epidemiology and Biostatistics both from the University of Gondar, Ethiopia.Citations of 28570.

Kefyalew’s research focuses on spatial epidemiology of infectious diseases including tuberculosis and multidrug-resistant tuberculosis in low- and middle-income countries, including Ethiopia and China.  Kefyalew applies mapping technology such as Geographical Information System (GIS) and spatial analysis to identify areas and population groups at high risk of infectious diseases to provide information for targeted public health interventions.
