Biography:

Ajay Kumar Mishra (MSc, MPhil, PhD, CSci, FRSC) is currently working as Full Professor at theDepartment of Chemistry, School of Applied Sciences, KIIT Deemed University, Bhubaneswar, India.Professor Mishra is also affiliated as Director at the Academy of Nanotechnology andWasteWaterInnovations, South Africa, Visiting Professor(s) at Robert Gordon University, UK, Bashkir StateUniversity, Russia, Vaal University of Technology, South Africa, Hebei University of ScienceandTechnology, China and Adjunct Professor at Jiangsu University, China. Prof Mishrahasbeeninvolved in the nanotechnology and waste water treatment projects. Active roles in thesepositionsrequire Prof Mishra to visit annually, though not mandatory. These involvements haveresultedinjoint publications and joint supervision of master and doctoral students. Strategic projectshavebeen designed for further joint project work. Prof Mishra’s distinct educational andresearchbackground and hands-on experience have contributed to his emergence asahighlyknowledgeable nano-scientists in the field. Prof Mishra completed his MPhil & PhD in Chemistry from the University of Delhi, Indiaandobtained BSc & MSc in Chemistry from Purvanchal University (U.P. College), India. Prior tothis, hehad worked as Professor at University of South Africa, besides working Associate Professor andSenior Lecturer at University of Johannesburg, South Africa. Prof Mishra alsoworkedaspostdoctoral fellow at University of the Free State and University of Johannesburg, SouthAfrica. Heserved as Director of the Centre of Nanomaterials at the University of Johannesburg, SouthAfricaand also Chair of the IEEE Nanotechnology Council, South Africa Chapter. Prof Mishra has published around 160 papers in peer-reviewed international journalsandalsorepresented in 150 or more papers in various conferences. He has edited more than 30booksandcontributed over 65 book chapters in various peer reviewed edited books by establishedpublishers.He has also delivered more than 115 plenary/keynote/invited/guest lectures in variousresearchinstitutions/universities/conferences/seminars/workshops. Prof Mishra has hostedmanyinternational visiting researchers and visited several universities globally. He has successfullygraduated 13 PhD’s, 20 Master’s students of which mostly graduated cumlaude(morethan75%), and hosted around 10 postdoctoral fellows. Prof Mishra’s research has beencitedmorethan 8200 times as per google scholar, with h-factor of 39. This is an additional testimonytohissignificant contributions to nanoscience & nanotechnology. Prof Mishra’s salient andinfluential research virtually guarantees that it will continue to improve in the field of nanoscience&nanotechnology and produce high quality work. Recently, Prof Mishra have been named on a list of the top 2% of the most-citedscientistsinvarious disciplines globally (2019-2021). Based on data from Elsevier’s Scopus, theabstract andcitation database, the report was prepared by Professor John Ioannidis of Stanford Universityandhis team and published in the journal PLOS Biology Prof Mishra is also reviewers of several key peer-reviewed international journals besidesactiveroleas an external examiner for national and international Masters/PhD students. Prof Mishrahasalsosecured number of international grants. Prof Mishra have attained considerable national andinternational recognition, as well as awards including “Fellow member” and “CharteredScientist”byRoyal Society of Chemistry, UK and Chancellor’s Prize (Unisa) for excellent achievement inresearch. Prof. Mishra also served as Associate Editor as well as member of the editorial boardofmany peer-reviewed international journals and books. He is serving as member advisoryboardofanumber of international scientific societies, conferences and workshops
